You all got me watching Carefree again tonight, ladies.
Several things to notice about this photo:
1. There is absolutely zero space between them.
2. He is like a CENTIMETER away from her lips.
3. Imagine the state of mind they had to be in to do this dance. Their hands are really perfect, so posed but so passionate. This rehearsal had to be absolutely delicious.
Ever since I was young this has been my fave dance of theirs. When I was about 19 I used to rewind this dance over and over and this inspired me to find the love of my life. It still remains to me to be the most perfect scene ever made in Hollywood and Film…the intensity, the music, the dance, the sentiment, the sexual tension is just so romantic and mesmorising and spellbinding.
It was funny how i noticed this. I was screen capping Swing Time today and then someone blogged this pic of Matt which looked like the pic I decided to post of Fred in Swing Time

And I shall walk around for the rest of the day with a dopey, loved-up expression on my face.
totally so glad to finally see this film again after so many years of wanting it!

Watching the Dr Who episode ‘Let’s Kill Hitler’ last night, the Doctor appeared in a tuxedo. Now, I watch so many 30s movies that a tux is likely to make me go slightly weak at the knees. We don’t see enough of them these days. =P Matt Smith is so gangly that I was reminded of Fred Astaire, and whipped this up. Doctor 11 and his sonic cane: 
This is in no way marvellous, but I had such fun doing it, so I don’t mind the mistakes too much. The pose is inspired (although no longer bears much resemblance to) Fred Astaire’s ‘I Guess I’ll Have To Change My Plan’ in The Bandwagon.
